Those of you who have followed along know of Wello Songz' attempt to get someone to give him a shot at pro football, despite the fact he ( a ) didn't play organized ball after high school and ( b ) didn't perform well at an FXFL tryout last fall.

(Caveat: you PAY $350 to play in the Rivals League "Senior Bowl.)

The RFL also says its standard contract is for $30k for a season. Where the hell is THAT money coming from?

"You have been selected by RPFL Coaches and Scouts to participate in the 2016 RPFL College Senior Bowl based on your potential to possibly utilize the RPFL as a platform to the National Football League or Canadian Football League."

Also, based on your willingness to pay us $350 to play in the game.

Wello makes tackle, believes this means he should be a professional football player.

I guess he can be credited with a "tackle" although the other defensive player did all the work.

So, lets get this straight Wello supposedly plays well enough to get invited to the leagues allstar game. The same league he already plays in and simply because the league basically invite him and others to again play in the leagues event, they are asked to pay $350 for the consideration simply wow.

The magic wand of semi pro football [everybody has to have a dream] does any one know the numbers on Wello can he run fast enough, and what are his other productive numbers that can be considered, or graded out as pro talent?

If I were to speak with Wello I would ask him those questions, then suggest to him its time to refocus his life, sure play all the semi pro ball you want but its time to consider what's your life goal moving forward. It looks as if he has passion for the sport so transfer that into coaching where he can still live his dream just not between the lines.

He doesn't even play in that league.

It's not clear that he has played much organized ball since high school more than 5 years ago. Did not play in college, apparently.

This league claimed its game was for players who has recently played in college. Seems like it was for whoever would pay.

They said they would sign guys immediately after the game. He is still hoping to be signed.

He is just one of those guys who doesn't know when it's time to give up.

Everyone has a dream, I guess. Not sure why we're so surprised or annoyed this guy wants to play football and is willing to pay a league to play.

It's no different than the thousands of people that move to Hollywood every year to "become a star" , only to end up busing tables at Starbucks.

It's all part of the American spirit! If someone is willing to pay X amount of dollars to do anything they dream of doing, even if it's clear they can't achieve that dream, who are we to stop them? At some point they will realize what they're doing is futile and they'll find something else to do.
