[quote=""Evad""]You are always gonna have fanboys it's the nature of this site. I'll admit I've been one once or twice...OK more than that, but I'm not gonna count. :-) Anyway, I think people do recognize the pattern but there are those out there that want nothing to do with the big leagues and hope one of these fly by night leagues takes off so they can say "I was there at the beginning"

Just my two cents. We are all rooting for the underdog, just some of us start foaming at the mouth and others have to administer the shots to calm them down.

And on that note...Press conference today at 4 East Coast time...lets see what happens.

And yes I asked the question about the footballs in the picture...Was that to "fanboy" of me? :-)

And I go to their Facebook page and look who posted there. The two "usual suspects":

Dusty Sloan
Matt Brown

In another toddler fight.

Oy, Dusty. Surprised he hasn't sent his CV in.

Okay, but those are, like, completely unrealistic numbers.

Which means it's obvious that you hate any non-NFL football.

$40.00 for a ticket to an independent league game??? Apples to oranges here but a AAA baseball team's average ticket is probably closer to $15.00 per ticket and they would be content getting 25,000 over a full Fri-Sun weekend series.

Those numbers are closer to what you would expect out of a small/mid size D-1 college football team.

Here are some D-1 Teams that average about 20-25K in attendance per game. Dont know how many of these teams average $40.00 per ticket. Cant be many though.

Tulane 25,012
Arkansas State 24,861
Nevada 23,862
Temple 23,370
Appalachian St. 23,166
Southern Miss 22,739
New Mexico 21,937
UAB 21,841
SMU 21,528
Ga. Southern 21,102
Texas State 20,598
Ohio 20,515
Utah State 20,467
Buffalo 20,403
Old Dominion 20,118
Louisiana Tech 20,054

Many of those you have to make a donation as well, to have the right to purchase tickets. And since people have an emotional connection to where they went to school - which they don't have to a pop-up alternative football league team - they don't mind paying it.

I would be extremely skeptical of them ever playing a game, but there is simply no way on this earth they can sell 25,000 tickets per game. None whatsoever.
