If he wants to play again he ought to join the spring league and show he’s still got something.

Note #9 has links to the FXFL of 2015 . . . wonder if the NFL has eyes on the Spring League as a way to get some reps for bench players/practice squad players down the road?
What road?
This is Brian Woods we're talking about here.
Agreed - his track record right now isn't the best but am morbidly curious to see if he can pull this off this Spring . . .
Still feel the NFL and/or the NFLPA are hoping one of these deals works out so they can either partner up or purchase outright . . . for that to happen, I say you'd have to have 4-5 years of decent product/games/etc./etc./etc.

My sense is the SL is hoping that but the NFL doesnt seem interested in anyone else's success - though they may like to see the results especially with someone else's money. of course anything is possible

The NFL could create a league tomorrow if they wanted and it would be better organized than any of these alphabet soup concoctions from the jump. (Sam)
This quote simply is not true, the nfl did just have concepts presented before the general managers in December 2016. Its clear they don't have a clue about how to go about doing it, even the lame commissioner admitted that in his previous press releases when discussing the topic.
Now Sam's point of the the league buying someone outside the league concept they may not, but that could be a mistake if that concept has ideas that were not even considered and shows or proves the concept is viable in all regards.
The NBA again thought that its capital letters were outside that realm as well but here we are today with a D- League that wasn't created by the NBA.
If a concepts out there time will prove it out, not media stories about the formation or who is involved those will come and go .
