Former Clemson football star Tajh Boyd has been charged with assault, according to Greenville police.

He was allowed to turn himself in Tuesday morning.

The warrant said the doorman at On The Roxx on South Main Street in Greenville had told Tajh Boyd he could not enter the bar on the night of July 11 because it was at full capacity, so he would have to wait in line "like everyone else."

The warrant said Boyd continued to argue about not being allowed inside the bar until the owner stepped outside. The doorman said that when he told Boyd to leave, he shoved him with two hands, causing him to "fly through the door, knocking another female and himself to the ground."

The doorman said he told Boyd again to leave, and he complied.

The doorman said he did not file a police complaint for a few days because he "wanted to speak with his attorney first."

Boyd was released on $1,087 bond shortly after he turned himself in.

Damn you, Dave. I came here to say that.

If you read the article beyond the quote here, you'll see the club cravenly refusing to take any responsibility for anything, basically saying "WE didn't arrest your hero QB, the doorman did, and he doesn't work for us, so please don't stop coming to our club because our independent-contractor doorman made your hero QB follow the same rules as everyone else".

And you wonder why athletes feel entitled? :)

Does playing in the FXFL disqualify you from the VIP room?

I doubt Tajh Boyd made that much in the FXFL to pay that!

But he would have "developed" enough to make more had the league survived, obviously.
