2 Returning from Championship

Post by DFWCC » Mon Apr 27, 2015 3:05 am

2 players from Erie Explosion's championship team
who have not played this year are returning to the black & orange.
One from the IR list and the other strapping up again.
Awaiting official release on the names.

I'm gonna guess DeQwan Young and hopefully an offensive lineman, Trimble or McQuinston. You guys need some OL help

Fhawk 5
50% right Deqwan Young coming off IR
and
Zach Williams 6'3" 280 DL, Zach played at Kent St and also
spent time with the CLE Gladiators

Note Big Dave McQuiston suffered a knee injury and has retired
as is his jersey. Great guy certainly could have used him.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know if Stokes is going to play somewhere else now that he's left the squad?

Stokes was a major player for us last year. I think he holds the indoor record of 9 rushing TD's in one game. That was in the CIFL which was by rules more conducive to the run game. The PIFL rules favor the passing game. There is not much need for a true running back in this league. I know there are a few QB keeper or beefy Blocker/FB plays designed for a yard or 2 but that's about it. I thinks Stokes has seen the writing on the wall. There is too much experience and talent on the Explosion to try and switch him to DB.
So I can't blame him. Erie has an outdoor team where his talents would be of greater use.
He's left the team and I wish him all the luck as he is a fantastic ball player.
