Gate the team folded months ago due to the owner getting in trouble with the IRS plain and simple. He folded up tent on the team in the UIFL first and then failed to meet LSFL obligations and they then suspended the Mesquite team.

He wouldn't have been able to make it through the season. The team was so far behind in all aspects of game operations from tickets sales, sponsorships you name it.

The plan is to expand up to 10 teams next yr, they've already announced a team in San Angelo and are working on the other venue's which will be announced in the coming months.

I hope that sheds some light on the subject. In the meantime check out the league website at www.texaslsfl.com.

Ok, former Tx Revolution coach has already been turned away from the CPIFL so now his venture is heading to the LSFL ? not so fast if he couldn't make the $5,000 fee in the CPIFL to enter what makes the LSFL think he will clear their entry but we all know those entry fees are a money grab any way. So maybe he only pays $3000 its desperate times out there for leagues and with the LSFL being a TX based footprint they will let him in, the CPIFL couldn't get enough teams to buy into travel into TX even though Oklahoma had the shortest trip into Texas they may not have been on board either.

If this team was legit, Wichita and Tulsa would have probably both bought in. It's about 6 1/2 hours to the DFW area from Wichita, about 4 hours from Tulsa, maybe 7 1/2 to 8 hours from Salina, 9 to 9 1/2 from Topeka. Once you start looking at KC and farther north, then it would have been a problem.

The IFL made Wichita and Allen play about three or four times the year TO played for Allen, so they aren't afraid to go south.
