First UIFL expansion team for 2012, flagship of their South Division:

Any ties to the group that tried starting up an SIFL team a while back?

The ownerships group already owns 2 other UIFL teams in the "Northern" Division, Huntington and Eastern Kentucky. Expansion announcement in the 3rd week of the season, Unbelievable!! Plus another coming!

Expand while it's hot (or as hot as it'll get, with all games being played so far and not too much negative publicity).

So out of seven teams, if you count the expansion franchise, three are owned by one guy and two others are essentially controlled by the league.

The league has been looking good so far. I went to one game in Canton, and watched the Johnstown game on livestream
