Big day for the FHL Schedule is due out around 1pm, and the Williamsport Press Conference is set for Noon.

Since it hasnt seemed to make it on here I'll mention that word is the Willimasport (formerly NJ Outlaws) will be playing there home schedule on an outdoor rink built on Bowman Field.....

Wow... do they really think people will come out to watch outdoor hockey on a cold Pennsylvania night? I mean, OK, once as a special event, maybe... but all season?

This will be a very interesting experiment.

Seems like a better venue for "indoor football".

Just a quick update...

After a failed attempt to spread their home schedule across six rinks in the Cape, the Cape Cod Bluefins folded, then became a road-only team, and are now the New York Bluefins (based in Cortland, NY).

And the outdoor experiment is over. The Outlaws played their next-to-last home game on Saturday, then cancelled today's game amid persistent rumors (confirmed today) that they had no plans of playing the last 6 weeks or so of road games. Why the FHL wrote a schedule that gave the Outlaws the opportunity to fold this early after a full home schedule is... perplexing.

Anyway, the FHL is down to 4 1/2 teams. I wouldn't put odds on the league staggering back for 2013-14 at this point.
