The Flight register their first win on the court and improve to 2-3 with a forfeit win over Port City Sharks. The Flight travel to Gainesville tomorrow.[/quote]
Wow ... Forfeited a Home Game? Hopefully the Flight were notified prior to making the trip up the interstate.

Yep. The Flight were supposed to play in Savannah on Friday against the Port City Sharks. Apparently, the sharks went belly up, but the Flight were notified before heading up I-95.
Even for a good team with solid ownership, the instability of other teams makes it really difficult. Hopefully we see more stability from the CBL in the future.

Well, it looks like I am not going to the PC/Flight game on my way home from Wilmington next week. It looks like a Sand Gnats game instead..........

FYI...Everything looks good for the webcast today. We're playing the Galaxy. We are winning the series 2-1 so far. We lost to the Jacksonville Giants/Bluewaves/whatever they are called Saturday by 1 point...112-111. We had the chance to go up with 5 seconds, but Ernest Jones couldn't convert the floater in the lane. Great game...too bad we didn't get it filmed!

Flight Video Highlights
Here is a video highlight of our May 28th game at home against the Gainesville Galaxy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajnJuxSJ ... r_embedded
You'll see 2nd year player Jacob Carver (#1), our first round draft pick in the WBA last year, playing very well. He's coming along quite nicely, and has worked hard to make himself a legitimate point guard to pay attention to. Not bad for someone who spent majority of the season llast year on the practice squad!
We've got 6 rookies this season. We're not dominating by any means, but we are hoping for a Rochester-like finish this season. We're also looking long term with this team. With so many rookies with a lot of raw talent and upside, my goal is to keep most of them around, help them develop, and turn there dreams into a solid career. Having quality film like this circulating will only help that cause.
We head to Birmingham Friday to play the Sabers. I have no idea who/if we'll play Sunday! We might have the rest of the weekend off after the road trip. Next weekend is sure to be a big weekend though. We face both Gainesville and Heartland at home, both of which games could play a deciding factor in determining which two of us go to the Divisional Playoff and then on the play the North Division champion.
Enjoy the video...and thanks to those who have always supported our efforts. Step by step...we're building our program the right way! I'm very proud of my team, both staff and players. In spite of all the silly, ridiculous challenges in minor league basketball, this is a lot of fun.
