Wilmington Sea Dawgs roundup

Post by LightningMan » Mon Dec 06, 2010 4:07 pm

A team thread for my team.

It looks like the prices for season tickets actually went down a tad.

They're offering a holiday basketball camp, again showing their commitment to merging with the community.

And they apparently are going to pay specific attention to social media by their appeal for an intern to specialize in that.

Tentative home dates have been posted. Just six games on the home schedule compared to Birmingham's seven. But being tentative, that may change.

I took my granddaughter to a festival at her school this morning and lo and behold the Sea Dawg mascot made an appearance. The Dawgs are trying everything they can to gain a foothold in this town. I hope they succeed.

After the activities both proven and alleged tonight in the PBL, I am very, very glad the Sea Dawgs left that league.

2011 Roster

Post by LightningMan » Fri May 06, 2011 2:11 pm

The new team roster is up:

Code: Select all

Player POS HT WT School
====================	===	===	===	================================
J.J. Cook SF 6'4" 205 UNCW
Zach Herrmann PG 6'1" 170 Augusta State
Joseph King SG 6'1" 195 UNCW
Alex Harper PG 6'4" 170 Virginia Commonwealth University
Deandre Bell SF 6'3" 205 Northampton High School
Mike Gibbs C 6'9" 270 UNCW
Sedale Threatt, Jr. PG 6'2" 200 Lehigh University
Mike Evanovich PG 6'8" 220 Fairfield University
Quandre Dixon SF 6'5" 215 T.C.I. College
Masevai Davis SG 6'1" 195 Southwester Oregon Com. College
Loren Baysden SF 6'5" 200 Montreat College
James Rhodes PF 6'5" 210 (Not specified, played with
						Atlanta Vision)
Raheim Murphy PG 5'5" 160 Cape Fear Community College
Johnathan Doherty SG 6'2" 190 UMASS Lowell
Cook, Herrmann, King, Harper, and Murphy have all played for the Dawgs at one time or another. Aaron Coombs, the 7' center, is a notable absence from last year, as is Kadiri Richard and Jermaine Williams. This might be the shortest Dawg squad of all. And I'm still trying to figure out a 6'8" point guard. Maybe that's an error.

That is a small line-up. We're struggling a bit ourselves in the height department. I don't recall the Murphy kid...at 5'5", he must be pretty good.
