ORLANDO - The Orlando Predators Arena Football team has a new cead coach in Pat O'Hara, veteran cornerback Kenny McEntyre told me Monday afternoon. O'Hara worked as the offensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Storm in 2005, then again in 2007 and 2008. Last season, O'Hara was the Head Coach of the Tri-Cities Fever of the Indoor Football League. A 10th-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1991, O'Hara eventually played quarterback for the Orlando Predators from 1995-2000.
I spoke with longtime Preds head coach Jay Gruden, who said he is hoping to re-join the Predators as an assistant coach in some capacity. Gruden has contractual obligations as an assistant with the UFL's Florida Tuskers. One of the stipulations in his current deal in the UFL is that he cannot be a head coach this upcoming season in the Arena League.
McEntyre, a defensive specialist in his 12th season, signed a two-year contract Monday and is expected to be one of the highest paid players in the league. With 81 career INT's, "The Glove" holds the AFL all-time interception record.

Great hire by the Predators since they could not get Jay Gruden.
