League shrinking still?
I keep looking for that schedule that was supposed to be out by December 31st (I can only guess that meand 12/31/2010 now) and I see today that the league has shrunk to 7 teams on the frontpage. Maybe by next week there will be 4 teams and still no schedule?

There are definitely 6 teams in for this year.
The holdup is ALBANY and that is in more ways than one.
I think the league has a meeting scheduled with the city to see how it wants to proceed since the owner has a contract with the city with the SIFL and now he doesn't want to honor it.
I think that meeting is to take place this week.
Then the six or possibly seven team league schedule will be announced.
It is my understanding they have both schedules ready for release as soon as they know which one to go with.

Houma And Beaumont Sit Out 2010, Aim For 2011
January 11, 2010 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
LAKE CHARLES, LA (January 11, 2010) - With the start of the 2010 season a mere months away, both the Houma, LA and Beaumont, TX franchises of the Southern Indoor Football League will sit out the 2010 season and aim to start back operations to play in 2011.
It was back in November when owner Terry Williams had announced that he was planning on moving his Texas Hurricanes franchise from College Station, TX to Beaumont, TX in hopes of rekindling some spark in an area of east Texas that has had arena football since 2003. But those plans will have to wait as the franchise got a late jump on the 2011 season and the SIFL had to ultimately decide that the Hurricanes just would not be able to start by March.
A year after rewarding the city of Houma with a team, the SIFL decided not to return to the city after contract disputes with the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center broke off. Franchise owner's Franklin Thomas and his Conquest Sports organization held the rights to playing dates in the Civic Center after signing a one-year contract before the start of the 2009 season. Midway through the 2009 season, the SIFL took control of the Conquerors due to financial issues with the club.
The Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center contract with Conquest Sports expired in November but the SIFL decided it was too late to prepare the franchise for the upcoming 2010 season set to begin in late March. The SIFL, which still owns the rights to Houma franchise, has yet to name any new owners for the club.
"With our blueprint for success in a regional-based league, the SIFL is the best option for both Houma and Beaumont," says SIFL President Thom Hager. "But in order to make sure both franchises succeed we must work out the challenges in coordinating with new ownership and arena."
The 2010 season for the Southern Indoor Football League is set to kickoff on Saturday March 20th, as the Columbus Lions will be traveling to take on the defending SIFL Champions the Louisiana Swashbucklers. The full edition of the 2010 schedule for the will be released at the end of this week, check back at http://www.southernifl.com for more details

Glad the league finally got around to acknowledging that but it is OLD news.
Those two teams haven't been in the mix for several weeks now.
The only thing that is holding up the league at this point is Albany.
If it were me I would go ahead and put out a schedule and be done with them for this year because at this point it would be almost impossible to pull off a successful season on such short notice.

They've got to present their case to judge judy and hope it's better than the guy that signed the arena deal.
You don't need that much time to put together a team as good as the Texas Pirates or Florida Kings do ya? Sorry, that wasn't nice - lol

Time stands still for no one. You can't wait for things to happen, you need to hit the ground running.
Best of luck to him.
