Baltimore Blast: 7 Time World Champion
Congratulations are in order to the 7 TIME WORLD CHAMPION, BALTIMORE BLAST. What a night. What a season. The City of Baltimore has done it again. We are winning all the major titles it seems. First the Ravens, now the Blast. And with the Orioles just making the playoffs after such a long drought, that alone feels like a title, but I digress.
One of the most storied franchises in all of soccer and THE most storied franchise in indoor, has added to it's collection. The run that the Blast had towards the end of the season and going undefeated in the playoffs is the kind of stuff that should have been on ESPN, or NBC Sports Network. Also the Wave/Comets series was an instant classic. This is what America wants to see.
Not sure of the future of indoor soccer, but for one night anyway, it was like old times. Close to 9,000 fans made their way onto the hollowed grounds of 1st Mariner Arena and watched an incredible game. Got to give it to Waltman and the Comets, they played well, but in the end, lost to the better team. There were familiar faces, the Commissioner of the USL. There was the Honorable Mr. Edwin F. Hale, the legend. Amazing night. What a way to finish the season. GLORIOUS.
GO BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny thing is, this is the only story per google news I could find about thsi game:
http://www.abc2news.com/dpp/sports/balt ... ver-comets
So imo, the jury is still out as to if this game really took place or the teams in question actually exist.

If you go to the Baltimore Sun's website, then Sports, then scroll down to Other Sports, then find Soccer, you will see an article about the game.

Of course, there is also this article, titled: Ed Hale files $5M suit against 1st Mariner Arena operator at http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bs ... 4635.story
And, he is moving the team out of their practice facility at the Clarence H. Du Burns Arena in Canton and he folded his Baltimore Bombers of the North American Lacrosse League that also played at Du Burns (with 2 games left in the season).

Wow! I didn't even look at the comments, but you're right, that Lewis Melcher quote is pretty close to what we see here.
For those of you who can't find the comments section, here it is in all it's glory:
For those of you who can't find the comments section, here it is in all it's glory:
The bill boards are his property . the signs and billboards that are inside the arena belong the Baltimore Blast Corp so he is infact 100% correct in his lawsuite . The city has not dont one thing for the Baltimore Blast zero Zip Zilch .
The Baltimore Blast have been here for 33 Years and has won 6 CHampionships and are playing for the Championship on 3/16/2013 at 7:35 what about the Money Ed Hale has bought in to the City of Baltimore everyone forgets about that the man is a realest and speaks his mind
Ed Hale needs to build a brand new arena in edgemere and just be done with the city Its easy for everyone to call him a bad guy but if you spent 3 Million dollars to enhance the arena you would be filing the same law suite .
But when the blast win the Championship on Saturday I bet you the Mayor is Kissing Ed Hales butt and plastering her face all over the news just to get some TV time to show she cares about the Baltimore Blast and shes never even been to a game in her life . She does not care about the city in any way shape or from
I say way to go ED HALE

Correction. The Blast is one of the most storied franchises in North American indoor soccer history. The most storied is the San Diego Sockers.
