Hopefully the Comets go on to win the first MASL Championship. We shall see.

Theres a buzz in the metro about one of the communitys favorite soccer teams. The Missouri Comets scored its 20th win on Sunday to remain undefeated headed into the playoffs, but for many in the stands, the game was about a lot more than just the score.

The bright side to all this is everyone in KC plays well together in the soccer sandbox. The Comets and FC KC have common ownership. FC KC has made some agreements with Sporting KC over playing dates at Sporting Park and use of the Swope Park fields for games and training. And all three teams are winning for the most part (Sporting did collapse on the field in the second half of last season, but hopefully can turn it back around.)
The first game of the season, Missouri completely outclassed a Dallas club that had been decent in the PASL. The Dallas announcers couldn't get over the Comets. You really got a feeling for the disparity between the leagues, though some of the former PASL sides have picked things up a bit.
