MASL rules for the 2014-15 Season

Post by Fran » Wed Oct 08, 2014 6:45 pm

It's a little strange that the former MISL teams got the scoring system they wanted for their home games and the rest of the teams have single point scoring, point scored better not be part of playoff tie breaker, and it will be even more bizarre if one of those teams makes the championship and they different scoring rules from a team outside the east.

Multi-point Scoring for selected Eastern Division teams - All games played at the Baltimore Blast, Harrisburg Heat, Rochester Lancers and the Syracuse Silver Knights will be played with multi-point scoring. The Detroit Waza Flo will continue to use single-point scoring along with the rest of the league in their home matches. Goals scored from on or outside the three point arc will be worth three points and goals scored from within the arc will be worth two in the four selected cities. The three-point arc will have a forty-five foot radius from the center of the goal line. This is the same system the MISL played with the last few years.

Just when I thought indoor soccer got something right by banding the two leagues together. They pull a stunt like this.

Even if the elusive cable contract came about. I'd pity the announcers who have to try and justify this decision and why it's different from arena to arena.
Adios, OSC message boards. (2007-2017)
