Are things coming to a head?

According to a report on WTKR (http://wtkr.com/2012/10/17/no-pay-we-wont-play/), Virginia Destroyers players have issued the league an ultimatum to pay them or they won't play their scheduled game on Friday. If the UFL pays them, I would expect players from the other three teams to follow suit. If the league doesn't pay them, the season might be over.

Some reporter in Philly had tweeted on Monday or Tuesday that the league HAD folded, then he recanted. Obviously, the game in Omaha went off last night in front of dozens.

Dead league limping.

With each day that this league limps along. It makes the WFL's attempt of righting the ship in 1975 look more and more brilliant...(Which come to think of it, wasn't too brilliant in the first place)

It also makes more in unpaid bills, and leaves more doubt that anyone will ever be paid in the future.

Does this league do any good, for anyone? How does this season offer hope for potential investors when they try to regroup (which they will) in the future?

That doubt about being paid has only grown with the revelation of Marty Schottenheimer's lawsuit against the UFL founder who, Schottenheimer says, provided him a personal guarantee of payment. No payment has been forthcoming and MS is suing to get his money. The players are currently being guaranteed their money, too.

On a positive note......the USFL will be kicking off in 2014 :D (I'm sure investors are lining up for this)

I question why the UFL even kicked off this year. The league website never has been up and running and there was almost no news in the offseason, except a tv deal.

Agent David Canter posted via Twitter that the UFL is suspending operations, no further games this season. Sacramento qb Jerrod Johnson independently posted that the league was suspended until spring.

Officially confirmed by the UFL's Larry Weisman:

"Confirming: The UFL is suspending operations for 2012 season."
"UFL postpones second half of '12 season to spring of '13, then resumes fall play as well in '13."

Translated: "UFL compounds bad decision (2012 season) with two bad decisions (spring 2013 season, fall 2013 season)".

They have no credibility, and this really needs to stop now. As the kids say, "kthxbye".
