West Virgina Angels at it again?

Post by mikewalshballer » Thu Mar 27, 2014 1:37 pm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MARCH 26, 2014

NEW PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE FORMED

League officials have announced the formation of the new Mountain States Professional Basketball League and have named the first four franchises.

It is the belief of the team owners that regional basketball is more viable than a larger national league in this economy and that with troubles within the Continental Basketball Associatin and other leagues that solidly financed and managed franchises need to band together, cut the costs of travel and league fees and become transparent in their business and player movement areas. It is for these reasons that the “M League” has come into existence.

The Atlantic Crowns (GA),Fort Pierce Warriors(FL) ,Martin County Lions (FL),Vero Beach Stampede (FL),Logan Mustangs(WV),Saint Albans Wild (WV),and the West Virginia Angels have come together to form the M.S.B.L., for the inaugural 2014 basketball season. These organizations are already up-and-running and will be joined by up to four other franchises to be named shortly from Kentucky,North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio.

The league will publish a full directory within a month and announce player signings and coaching positions. The league will play a 16-20 game inaugural season beginning this spring/summer.For further Questions Contact the M.S.B.L. league office at 866-405-9777.

Wonder if they meant the CBL instead of the CBA, which is off to a solid start (and in their backyard).

The MSBL was tried back in 2009 with teams like the Charlotte Mustangs, Georgia Gwizzlies, Madison (WV) Miners, Pikeville (KY) Power, Virginia Angels and West Virginia Wild, among others. I don't think they ever played a game. Their former web site was http://www.msblonline.com
