from the beginning, the travel seemed to spell disaster for their inclusion in the league.

I hope this is not the case... for the PBL's sake. Bummer...

I hope this isn't true, but it's definitely not shocking. You haven't to wonder how the PBL brass could have thought that PR would be able to play in the playoffs given the overlapping schedules.

Assuming that they now put 4 teams into the playoffs it sort of takes away from what would have been a very exciting race for that last playoff spot. That said, I think that it's clear that it's better to face Rochester than it is to face LFS, so placement still matters.

Anyone able to find any confirmation of this?

Courtney Sims was cut by PR... not that it matters for PBL fans anymore, I guess.

I read an old Spanish article a few days ago about the Capitanes' decision to play in the PBL. It said they foresaw the overlapping schedule, but "hoped to work things out with the league."

And it looks likes PR only had one regular season game left, a game against Rochester in Arecibo. Is that the game that's cancelled? I could see them skipping the playoffs but it seems weird that they would cancel a home game. Were they responsible for the road team's travel?

Does anyone have an update on this?

I had read a few weeks ago that they may not be in the playoffs, but this is an interesting twist on that news.

Does any one hand first hand (not guesswork) knowledge of how the league brass set up travel arrangements with this team? Was it 100% travel?
