In addition to Walla Walla, I'd like to announce a team to play in the Manchester Ice & Events Center, McCall, Idaho (pop 2,000 and change, elevation 5,000 and change), capacity 700. Name of the team: Jack. (No, not the McCall Jacks, not the Payette Lake Jack, not the Idaho Jacks or Idaho Jack.....

There was once a hockey league- I forget what the thing was called. I doubt it was really a league, as it seems all the games were played in Eugene, Oregon. Some people had noticed the same players playing for different visiting teams (Sacramento, maybe Mexico City). The "owner" was eventu...

Hmmm, if I'm to take you at your word, it's "rights" fees, not "franchise" fees. So, if Joe Newman has to take the league and run, nobody actually owned a franchise. Who gets hosed? Or is my ode to semantics a bit much? Of course, who knows, it could be a setup where some of thes...

BTW, it's now February 97th, and I'm drooling uncontrollably in anticipation of the announcement of the Portland venue due by the end of the month.

I'd like to announce a team in Walla Walla, Washington. What league, you ask? We don't need no freakin' league! Credibility? Just as much as all these ABA announcements. (BTW, I absolutely, positively confess my guilt to falling in love with the phrase "We don't need no freakin' league!")

The EHL is the remnant errrr remainder of WHA2, and they are hoping to annex the SEHL teams. They already got Huntsville, so as far as I know (haven't had time to update my reading on this since Friday, and that's probably a good thing), the rest are probably not far behind. Well, Knoxville and Faye...

If you are honest, then why are you letting a measly internet board get to you like this? Most people who are being misrepresented that badly would have had a good laugh about these accusations. You list the accusations in your last post as if you were answering them. I wouldn't have given them the ...

Who cares? WTF? Before you sense total apathy here... News flash... hockey has always had shady businessmen, inclusive of the NHL. Chris often rings hollow to me in this regard. Most people- well, most old farts like me- don't care about this subject, basically, we know the hockey track record state...

...and now Hermosillo, Mexico, too!

BTW, no arena secured there, and absolutely no news about Utah other than the sudden name change, so we've gone from two "real" new teams to one.

Anyone really think there's going to be a season?

Hmmmm... These stadia are being rebuilt for World Cup 2006. Didn't FIFA had a hand in helping deny someone in France a franchise when 1998 was coming about? We're talking about people who are very protective of their turf... and I mean that literally. Yeah, I could be wrong, but at the least, I expe...
