Word on the street has it that the team will petition the league to be allowed to play on a 55 yard field, with 16 yard end zones and the nets, and for goal posts to be hung above the goal lines.

I'm still expecting an announcement from Haines stating that the League is is still the MAHL but it is now the Mid-American Hockey League to reflect recent expansion. I think we'll see it sometime this off-season

Probably not. There just isn't any ownership interested in Lafayette for a pro team. They'd be a great fit for the CHL but its a matter of getting ownership.

The PHPA is in no position to determine the four regional leagues for the AA level. The CHL and IHL have some PHPA players but that's only because they were in the ECHL at one time. The CHL and the IHL are not PHPA leagues so what the PHPA says doesn't affect them usually.
