One of the benefits in being in a lower league in American soccer, as opposed to any other sport, is access to the US Open Cup. Giving up that possible home game against NY or KC or LA... not the smartest idea. That's often a serious money game. The counter to this is that NASL teams haven't even fa...

I'm of the belief that USSF doesn't openly court lawsuits against it. Hence the screwy 2010 compromise league and then last year's dual D-2 sanctioning. http://www.kgw.com/news/investigations/arena-football-league-leaves-trail-of-unpaid-bills-in-portland/471663360 This is about what you'd expect. A bit of a Terry Emmert kiss-up (why bail after two years, eh?), and KGW doesn't mention (chuckle) how "prosperous" the league (chuckle) really ...

The big cheese TV station in Portland just teased a report to be aired this Thursday about the disappearance of the Portland Steel/Thunder. Not as some sports memorial by what remains of the sports department. The report will come from the main investigative reporter (usually exposes petty scams aro...
So, wait, wait, wait. A system that would, at most, impact two of the 24 or 26 or 28 MLS investor/operators in a given year (and potentially fewer going forward as lower level teams likely yo-yo), would result in the other 22 or 24 or 26 just giving up and goi...

The Pro/Rel Lawsuit

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mls/article165360022.html Let this be known... the statute immediately after the one cited in the lawsuit gives wide latitude to national associations and regional associations to do as they see fit. The lawsuit is a joke. This news after news broke of an attempted...
That's not true Sam. I heard the ABA has kept going for years out of spite for you.
I'd like to think that was a collective effort here causing that "spite." The initial splash in Indy, plus some shock team attendances in USL and even a coupl...
