The LA Kiss are done, too. Expect an announcement shortly. Owners will cease operations. Portland Steel are league owned, so they're done unless they have a surprise owner waiting for Portland. That brings the league down to just 5(Arizona, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Washington & Tampa Bay).

I'd Oshkosh is the likely choice. The D-League will likely see as many as five expansion teams for 2017-18. Oshkosh(Milwaukee), Rochester(Minnesota), Omaha(Denver), Kissimmee(Orlando), Bakersfield(LA Clippers). This also leaves Erie available to someone to pick-up(Portland, New Orleans or Atlanta). ...

seems pointless for the ECHL to go back to a 4 division alignment when likely they'll have more teams in 2017-18 and will go back to a 6 division alignment with the additions of Owensboro, Worcester & Portland.

I'd guess and say the alignment for 2016 will split the conferences with 11 teams each.
