There seemed to be more than a little contact between the Tycoons and Defenders when I saw both earlier this season. At least one former Tycoon was already on the Defenders' roster and some of the faces in the operations personnel looked awfully familiar (the Tycoons' PA announcer served as a statis...

I like the setup in Austin. It's very intimate and I'm not sure they would draw much better in a suburban arena. There should be a ton of room in Reno for a kids area on the stage end of the hall. Even Hidalgo stuffs a kids zone in one end of their floor. One thing's for sure: if the showcase is eve...

It's larger than the hall the Toros play in, and Austin has retractable risers on one side only, temporary risers on two others. Looks like Reno would seat about 5000 for basketball where Austin can barely fit over 3000.

Could work out

Here's a picture of the Events Center set up for the rodeo: http://www.visitrenotahoe.com/facilities/reno_events/photo_gallery/images/rodeo1.jpg That could be a long, flat section to the court, which would suck for the floor seats that aren't courtside. As for SW Basketball, they do seem to work on ...

Toros Acquire Andre Barrett From Bakersfield Jam

AUSTIN, TX (February 25) – The Austin Toros announced today that they traded forward Justin Reed to the Bakersfield Jam for guard Andre Barrett. Reed, a 6-8 forward out of Mississippi averaged 14.5 points and six rebounds in 15 games with the Toros this season. Barrett, a 5-10 guard from Seton Hall ...

My money would be on Cedar Rapids

The league gave the RimRockers a November 07 deadline for finding a new market at least in principal, and they are the only other team that has had a semi-recent update on their status:

"The roads look fine to me." "We are from Socal-and still amazed how SOFT this area and many of it's people are when it comes to weak kneed excuses due to "weather" and "traffic". Those excuses do not fly in the Big City... 3" inches of snow-and 'I cannot make...

It's just a basketball movie

There was a Semi-Pro promotion at the Toros game Saturday. White guys with Brady perm wigs and headbands, gimmie cups and big foam hands with "We're #4!" printed on them and four fingers extended rather than just one. The kids seemed to like it....

lol

I find the comments pretty funny. If they don't know the difference between the ABA and the D-League, they won't be going to the games anyway.

It has already begun

Langford is slated to leave March 1 barring an NBA callup.

Teams like the Toros are too good to stay together an entire season. I've resigned myself to that.
