First of all, there are currently a few defunct teams, do they still have Dleague franchise rights as they could be sold and started up again? Second of all, if I was a rich 100 millionaire, I'd approach the NBA about purchasing 4-5-6 franchises find 4-5-6 mid-sized markets and start the franchises ...

This should help a lot on both ends of the spectrum.... More like baseball, where the investors will compete for the best bids from the parent club, so they can consitrate on making there franchise more attractive.... And the parent club can consitrate on more development....

The problem with Colorado is that they are way too close to Denver.... so they compete with Broncos, Aves and Nuggets.... plus there is like 3-4 minor league hockey teams in the region..... If they'd move to Casper WY or Rapid City SD they'd have 3 times the attendance, more sponsership... travel wo...

Why don't the Suns just buy them? I understand that the Suns have the cheapest owner in the NBA but still.... they have used the D-League pretty regularly in the past....

OK, Tulsa and Austin are owned by NBA clubs.... before that they were owned by SW Basketball LLC who ran the teams he ran as cheap as possible... Albuquerque I believe is under new ownership, and hopefully will be able to work something out with the Suns or a Texas team.... And also hopefully moves ...

If the teams can stay afloat short term the fact that they will have owners who are active in the community should help.... still wonder if there isn't more to it because it kinda seems like a quick sell.... I had heard for example that the Maloof family was interested in buying the team in Reno... ...
