He Meant "Illegal Defense"
I am sure the coach meant to say an illegal defense. There is no such thing as an illegal offense. If there were too many men in motion, it would be illegal motion, etc. There are calls for "illegal defense" and I am sure that is what he was talking about since Evansville had the ball at t...

Did Springfield fold, officially?
Did Springfield fold, officially? Are they making the trip to Stubenville?
What is the latest word?
One of their players told me that he was waiting on a call to play or not and he never received a call.

EDWARDS WAS 2nd LEADING RUSHER
Chris Barclay, from Wake Forrest, the allocated running back from the Cleveland Browns was the leading rusher with 55 yards on 7 carries, however ShaRon Edwards did carry for an equally impressive 47 yards on 6 carrries. Both backs averaged 7.8 yards per carry. So it looks to be a two man race to ge...

Any Word on Rage Exhibition Game, Last Night?
I didn't see anything in the newspaper or on the Rage web site regarding the outcome of last nights exhibition game for the Rage. I am sure that the Rage totally dominated their semi-pro opposition and their were a lot of tickets sold for an exhibition game. but I just wanted to hear how things went.

This is not something new to indoor football
Though it may be new in the AIFL, the Rage used it in the past with not a lot of success. That is not to say it can't work. It just didn't work for the Rage.
It may have raised the awareness of the team through more contact and word of mouth, but it did not translate into any sales windfalls.

Not Stampede, Wranglers
BTW -- You can add (Oklahoma City) Oklahoma Stampede (AFL) to the list. The Yard Dawgs came a year or two later.
The AFL team in Oklahoma City was the Oklahoma Wranglers. The Oklahoma Stampede was a semi-pro team several years before.
