Hey Fran, I remember the wonderful job you did covering the XFL. It was a great league that failed to narrow down who its target audience was. It was too WWF/E for the NFL fans, and too NFL for the WWF/E fans. In the end, it didn't die due to lack fo fan support or viewership, it died because UPN ma...
But why ask the fans to donate money to the last game of the season and then drop out of the play-offs? That's a good way to upset your fans.
That's why it says the league banned them from it. Makes the team look like the victim in all of this.

Good to see my years of following indoor football in the limelight and things have just not changed. I don't know why I keep coming back to even see what's going on. I'm like the battered spouse coming back hoping they've changed. They never do. MLS and high school football do not give me this much ...

If the schedule on the site holds up, the Sting have two home games against Johnstown and another appears to be a double-header. Two are slated for a 'day before the Johnstown game' and the rest are on weeks where Johnstown is on the road. It wouldn't surprise me if the two home games schedule the d...

In a few years I could see the CIFL becoming the: Outdoor Grocery Store Parking Lot Football League. During plays, the rest of the roster will gather the shopping carts and direct vehicle traffic around the 'playing field'. And the good news is, most of the lines are already painted. So that saves s...

I can't tell you if better or worse, but the APFL has survived on a handshake for about twice as long as the CIFL has and with far fewer teams coming and going in recent years. One thing I've always said about the APFL is it is what it is without pretense to be something its not. Point is it has wo...

He's a figurehead. It will give some good will to people who 'know' of him. The owners of the league/teams will still have final say. Nothing wrong with that. Always better to have a front-man while you do the dirty work behind closed doors.
