Some interesting comments here, and I hear ya, Berk, but I think this can put the Atlantic League at the forefront of independent player development. For example, the Ducks had undrafted Paul Karmas from St. John's, ( by the way nicknamed The Franchise. Nice!) A player of that caliber might be overm...

Thanks for the insight, Moneyballer. Please continue to update us with any local news from that area. The news posted on this site's weekly franchise report is interesting. "Plans to move forward with a feeder league called the ALPB2 that is targeting 2014 for its start with teams based in the ...

It's definitely an interesting proposal. But I'm curious as to what markets would be available, as the Northeast seems heavily saturated, and any open markets in New England seem to go the collegiate league route. Just off the cuff, four teams in NJ with Atlantic City, Newark, Augusta and Little Fal...

Alan, I'm on your site all the time (under another alias) and I've actually been meaning to comment on my appreciation of the fact that you engage in dialogue yet never in a condescending, snarky way like the other site. Which begs the question, how can it be a site providing customers a service, wi...

I just read that Jamestown has requested and received permission to relocate to Morgantown if that park gets built. So Batavia would probably fill the void by the EL team going to Ottawa.

My guess is Batavia stands pat for 2013 and will shuffle once that ballpark situation in Ottawa is straightened out. Assuming it's Erie going to Ottawa, that's where Batavia will go, or possibly to the new WVU park being built in Morgantown. Although the snarky Ballpark Digest says that won't happen...

Thanks, Dave. Pardon my cynicism but I think you could scratch Nassau County off the Islanders' list as well, from the looks of things. That's if there's ever hockey again. The group in Malden, MA has a pretty cool website up (greaterbostonballpark.com) that even includes a countdown to Opening Day ...

That would be good news for the league if Trois Rivieres is aboard, good news in a league that needs it. With the report that the owner of the Tornadoes had his league membership terminated (long drawn-out lawsuit anyone?) Quebec averages 3,000 and has five times the population of Trois Rivieres, bu...
