While I am not familiar with Bakersfield, I can't imagine there isn't a high school gym capable of sitting a thousand or more in town. Even University of Texas Arlington has enough sense to play their games in an auditorium, with seats facing one side of the court...

Four IHL clubs, Quad Cities Mallards , Bloomington Prairie Thunder, Dayton Gems, and Fort Wayne Komets are merging with the CHL. More information by tne end of June, 2010. Rumors of an expansion club in Saint Charles, and another one for the 2011 season in Evansville...

The Amarillo Gorillas and Corpus Christi Ice Rays CHL franchises fold, but are replaced by NAHL junior hockey franchises. Consolidated Holdings, who recently bought the Frisco Texas Tornadoes, bought Albert Lea and moved the club to Amarillo. And the Ice Rays bought Alpena... The summer silly season...

Oklahoma City fans chose Barons for their own reasons having nothing to do with any previous AHL club. I am not even sure the fans knew there used to be a Cleveland Barons club. Well, you are in luck. The Texas Stars and Cedar Park will spend some funds this summer to increase the leg room a couple of inches by resetting every chair in the bowl. I believe this would involve raising the back legs with a bit higher angle aft, as the concrete bowl is undoable.
