One of the PIFL's founding members, the Colorado Wildcats compiled a 9-5 record in their only season of play. Under owner Gary Kozacek, they struggled financially throughout the season, even folding at one point for two weeks before being rescued by new owner Tom Shafer, whose money allowed the team to finish the season.
When Green Bay and Madison co-owner Keary Ecklund announced his intentions to start a new league, Shafer appeared with Ecklund to announce that the Wildcats would also be a part of the Indoor Football League. The move never materialized, and the Wildcats folded after the season.
