Default It wont be the CBA

If the better funded ABA teams do leave, it wont be for the CBA. Thats a fact. The league is very unstable now as they try to finish the season. I was told the whole pitch that Ricardo gave the Quebec ABA owner to come to the CBA, and it sounds like the CBA is very desperate. If they do get 1,000 fans a game ( which I will provide cell phone pics later showing not even half that amount at the CBA games) it is not enough to sustain a team. If anything, the CBA teams will join uncle Joe and stay very very regional, if uncle Joe's league is still around. What the CBA should have done is kept there financial problems in house and not have Ricardo calling every city, town and village to see if they could support a CBA team and spill his guts.

The northeastern US/Canadian teams (Buffalo, Vermont, Rochester, Quebec, Montreal, Strong Island, Cape Cod, Halifax, Maryland, Detroit) should form their own league.

Call it the Border Basketball Association (BBA) or something along those lines.

i posted an idea similar to that, my idea was the whole east coast not jus the north, im sure you guys saw this but ill post it again

Here are the teams that should form their own league:

Buffalo
Rochester
Vermont
Detroit
Quebec
Strong Island
Maryland
Wilmington
Jacksonville
Atlanta
Orlando
-and 2 expansion teams down south
-and maybe Cape Cod or Montreal could be added

thats my 2 cents on the stronger ABA teams and what they should do, since according to "a1" the CBA might not be their best resort

and Dave your idea is just as good, up in the North East we could have a great league!!! and hey invite the Albany Patroons and Pittsburgh Xplosion to the league, that would be kick ass!!

Default I admit

that the CBA does seem a bit strenous with the length of travel involved for teams to reach their opponents. Hopefully things will improve next season.
But regardless of what league it is, ABA, CBA, whatever, I'm in favor of whatever league the Xplosion are in. As long as they are around for me to support them.
I have to add, though, the good part about the CBA is more potential for players who want to reach the NBA, which the ABA does not have, although the ABA is more regional, which I can relate to. But the ABA does have it's share of good teams. If another league is formed, hopefully the X will be invited to be a part of it. I don't care who we play, I love the action!

Pittsburgh made an enormous mistake by leaving the ABA. They were a viable franchise in the ABA and their travel was manageable. But they drank the kool aid from Ricardo and see what has happened? Where did Ricardo learn his "sales pitch" ? You got it....Joe Newman!!!!

Default Why

are you pointing at us, pistol44? We were not the only team to leave, although I do admit that I miss watching the action of both the regular season and playoff game of the Xplosion when we were in the ABA.
Honestly, there are pros and cons of each league, that I can see. But two other teams made the same mistake(if you call it that), only we are winning games now, unlike earlier in our season. I'm still a proud Xplosion supporter!

I think the most viable option is the teams starting their own league as well.

NORTHEAST DIVISION:
Buffalo
Cape Cod
Rochester Razorsharks
Syracuse
Vermont
ATLANTIC DIVISION:
Halifax
Maryland
Montreal
Quebec
Reading
SOUTHEAST DIVISION:
Atlanta
Jacksonville
Mississippi
Orlando
Wilmington
CENTRAL DIVISION:
Detroit
Minnesota
Quad City
Peoria Kings
Rochester Fire
MID-SOUTH DIVISION:
Arkansas Aeros
Corpus Christi
Houston
Rio Grande Valley
Texas
PACIFIC DIVISION:
Bellingham
Long Beach
Maywood
Orange County
San Diego

I suggest we call it the Junior National Basketball Union (JNBU: BU would be "buck" you, a nicer way of saying something else.)

another great idea! its gona be interesting to see what happens and its not to far away, owners meeting in april and then after that there is gona very exciting to see what happens

and with your idea, ino the teams on the east coast can survive and have their own league, dont no to much bout the west coast teams, IMO id like to keep the league small like my east coast idea, and Dave's north east idea, u dont need 60 teams like Joe wants, 10-20 is the perfect amount, and all in the same region is even better

but everyone has great ideas maybe one of them will become a reality.......

its going to be very, very interesting in about a month in the world of minor league basketball!
