Default Goodbye C-Springs, Hello Alamo

I had heard some glancing reference to a possible AAA move into San Antonio some months ago, didn't have time to check it out... and, yes, there's a chain reaction.

Sky Sox leave Colorado Springs after 2018 to go to San Antonio.

The Missions in the Texas League leave San Antonio for a new park in Amarillo.

Colorado Springs won't go empty... they'll get the Pioneer League team currently located in Helena.

San Antonio would host AAA in the current stadium... reports are that they are lukewarm about helping out with a new park. Curious how that will turn out.

Elmore Sports Group has already threatened to leave San Antonio, more than 18 months before they move the Colorado Springs franchise there, if a new stadium isn't built.

This is believed to be a record.

The Missions owners were openly courting AAA teams for some time now.
They have already committed the Missions to Amarillo (which is somewhat surprising since that town has failed to support several teams in the past, but is building a new stadium).
Here in Doo Dah, they have courted both the Missions and the Sky Sox and just approved a new stadium, so this could be a convoluted ménage à trois designed to squeeze more money out of the taxpayers in SA. A similar tryst happened several years ago between Pittsburgh and Kansas City to get a new arena for the Penguins.
