Default Bakersfield to relocate to Prescott Valley, AZ

I wonder if the LA Clippers would consider bringing back the Bakersfield Jam as their own affiliate?

Just came to mind. The late great Merle Haggard also came from Bakersfield.

Jam may not be leaving D-League. Owners hoping to resurface as expansion team for upcoming season.

Did I read correctly that the guys who ran the Jam in Bakersfield want to use a 550-seat gym for home games? I hope I got that wrong because that would be totally rinky-dink, even for the D-League.

I doubt its wrong, LA already went that route years ago (5 or 6) with a home court with only 362 seats, if I remember correctly.

Nope, it is what has been listed as attendance for the Jam games for years.

Reports are surfacing that the Clippers are likely to take in the Bakersfield Jam as their D-League. Still unsure if they'll buy the team or just affiliate themselves with the Jam.

That may happen as a temporary solution according to D-League digest.

League to hold at 22 teams for 2016-17. No Bakersfield, Oshkosh or Rochester(MIN) for next season.

The Jam used a different business model than other teams. Basically, every seat was a luxury box (without the box). Sold to corporate accounts with waiter service, tables, chafing tables, etc. It was a high-end experience for business networking with the appropriate prices.
