I don't think they are exploited at all, they want to play ball, they play ball. I can't feel sorry for anybody DUMB ENOUGH to believe that the NFL will be scouting AIF teams at the Pineland Sports Complex in Southampton, NJ, if that's what they think will happen.

The biggest problem with these Mickey Mouse teams is often failure to maintain the proper types of insurance (see the late great EIFL for what happens when something really bad happens in that department). The types of injuries you get playing indoor football are potentially serious, and even for part-time players, not covered by their day job's policies. They are covered by workman's comp and other supplemental policies that the teams are supposed to carry. They are often very expensive, depending on the staten (that's why there aren't a lot of pro indoor teams in California).

NOT A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
BUT AN ORGANIZATION THAT IS not profitable and
not by design.

I mean, I may be stupid but how are you going to make a profit
to continue if your venue only holds a 100 SRO?

A very key point. Technically, a charity is a "not-for-profit," in the realm that profit isn't really the goal. I assume these indoor teams usually think they're trying to make a profit.

Of course, when I play the Mega Millions, I'm trying to make a profit, too.

Well the 10,200 LC will certainly help, but getting Philadelphians to support
a team from NJ?...

You might think they'd want to change the name.
Oh, and by the way that's an awful big arena for a league like the
AIF or AIFL or whatever they are calling themselves this yr,
especially in an unproved market place for what is generally agreed
to be the lowest level on indoor football.

Default Sad. Sad. Sad.

Looks like another person has drank the Kool-Aid. I really hope the ownership group has deep pockets, because that can't be a cheap venture renting out that facility. Also, they're right in Soul territory down there. Seriously, what business sense does that make at all?

I've been to a few Soul games the past two seasons, and they can post whatever they want, there's not that many people going to games. That's why they did that whole IGL league to have the teams buy tickets.

Now that they have a decent arena, I hope they'll stepup their website up from a leaguelineup site. It's a "Pro" league. Yikes

CBS Philadelphia television is plugging a report about the Moorestown Saints for its 11 p.m. news. That would be good news for the Saints organization, except that the report is from the station's I-Team.

UPDATE: The Moorestown Saints have been deleted from the AIF website.
