Default PBL Announces Rookie/Defensive POY, All-League Teams

CHICAGO—The Premier Basketball League is pleased to announce its regular- and post-season awards for the recently concluded 2013 season.
Jemal Farmer of the Bloomington (Ill.) Flex has been named the league’s Most Valuable Player, averaging 20.3 points per game, shooting 56% from the floor and 57% from three-point range.
Farmer, a 6’5” forward from the University of Arkansas, was also named MVP of the playoffs, when he averaged 16.8 points per game on nearly 60% shooting.
The Flex’s A.J. Guyton was named Coach of the Year after leading his team to a second consecutive PBL championship.
Darin Mency of the Rochester RazorSharks was named Sixth Man of the Year. Bloomington’s Nathan Fuqua earned Defensive Player of the Year, while his teammate Josiah Whitehead garnered Rookie of the Year honors.
The All-PBL first team consists of: Tony Bennett (Rochester), Jemal Farmer (Bloomington), Daniel Ruffin (Bloomington), Gerard DeVaughn (Indiana), and Ryan Anderson (Bloomington).
Named to the second team are: Kwan Waller (Sauk Valley), Carlton Fay (Sauk Valley), Darin Mency (Rochester), David Inabnit (Indiana), Odgra Bobo (Lake Michigan), and Will Collins (West Virginia).
The awards were determined by a vote of league and team executives and coaches.
