Wendy Wood Appointed To Form Medical Team For Sin City Blackjacks

Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 8, 2011 -- Sin City Blackjacks, Las Vegas’ newest Professional Indoor Football Team, has appointed Wendy Wood to form its medical team . Overseeing the formation of an elite medical team, Wood joins Sin City Blackjacks with more than 20 years of medical experience.

The Sin City Blackjacks is a professional indoor football team that plays in the American Indoor Football Association, a newly formed league. The team is based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently the front office includes Anthony Bartley as General Manager/Head Coach, Andre’ Haynes as Director of Marketing, and Paul S. Padda, Esq. as General Council. Combines will be held on January 7th and 21st, 2012 at the Las Vegas Sports Park located at 1400 North Rampart Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada 89128. The Orleans Arena is set to host home games pending negotiations. The first home game is against the Sacramento Eagles, and is scheduled on Monday – March 19, 2012 at 7pm PT.

“Miss Wood brings a wealth of knowledge from the medical industry to our organization,” says Anthony Bartley, General Manager and Head Coach of Sin City Blackjacks. “She has extensive experience and impressive credentials. She will be a huge asset to our team.”

“I have worked with several teams and have seen several athletes injured during practices and games,” commented Dave Carney, radio co-host of “The Over Under Show” on KXNT 100.5fm, and the voice of the Las Vegas Wranglers. Sometimes the medical care is substandard and ultimately the athlete suffers physically, mentally, and emotionally. Also their career suffers, their family, and of course the team. Having a qualified and experienced medical professional like Wendy Wood on board guarantees that the physicians selected to provide medical care will be the best.”

“Wendy’s reputation speaks for itself,” stated Andre’ Haynes, Marketing Director of Sin City Blackjacks, and Founder and President of Endeavor Media Group. “She markets some of the best physicians that Las Vegas has to offer, sits on several boards and committees such as the American Diabetes Association, and is a practice administrator of a successful practice. There is no other person who is more qualified, and or who has more integrity. Our football team is in the best hands possible. I am glad that we got her on our team this season before another organization did.”

SIN CITY BLACKJACKS, A NEW PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, WANTS THE BIGGEST JACKPOT AND MAKES LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, ITS HOME.

ECHL Las Vegas has one of the worst leases in minor league hockey. They get no revenue from anything but tickets and PA announcements while paying crazy rent. I don't see how an bottom rung indoor football team is going to get anything better.

I see nowhere on where they will play unless its that Las Vegas Sports Part which doesn't look suitable. I also know of no suitable venue in Sacramento for that team. All sounds like a crap league built to the standards of the old AIFA. Ought to be a law!

Its hard to look at the AIF and be optomistic. I don't want the league to fail, but there isn't much faith in those at the helm.

If I read correctly, the Power Balance Pavilion is what was Arco Arena, home to the Sacramento Kings, NBA. I find it highly unlikely any indoor team will be playing there unless the attitude of management has changed in the last couple of years not to mention a very high cost to rent.

I would not call the AIF a league as more as one mans idea of how not to do things.

The Blackjack organization are in the process of finalizing our contract with a major venue that can host this type of sport. As for the AIF, we have restructured and are looking to make some big moves in the world of indoor football. All the teams will be financially stable to compete at a high level.....

Talking Same as it ever was, same as it ever was

We've seen it all and heard it all before around here.
No finalized venue? check.
Pie in the sky pronouncements that all is hunky dory and we have oodles of money? check.
Franchises that either fail to materialize or fold by mid-season? We'll see.

The biggest moves one can make in this sport is to go small, regional and keep costs under control. If you don't have AFL money, don't mess in an AFL market. You will get buried.
The local economy in Las Vegas is terrible right now. It practically leads the nation in home forclosures. Are you trying to sell to tourists? Most tourists don't go to minor league sporting events (there are some exceptions like the Traverse City Beach Bums, but there's no other night life in Traverse City, Mich.). Most who go to Vegas go to shows or to gamble.
As for a Sacramento team, there's a reason why all the smaller leagues either skipped on California or watched a lot of teams fold, the workman's comp costs were through the roof, even with a sport that pays tops of about $250 a game for a 14 game regular season.
Sorry to be the big, bad meanie here, but that's just the way it is. Minor league sports have become the last refuge of scoundrels. And I'm tired of people in this business trying to sell me $^!+ and calling it Shinola.

Nobodies economy is the greatest, but here in Vegas people will spend money to escape reality. We are not trying to sell you, if you are looking for entertainment, then you will go will do just like everyone else. It's sad to see so much hate at this level. Makes it hard for people who are actually doing the right thing. The Blackjacks are looking to provide fun and excitement to the city of Vegas. Our venue will be announced when the contracts are signed by both parties. So with that being said, we wish you and everyone else a happy holidays.
