Why do you feel the need to keep harping on this point? Not every indoor football team sells as few tickets or has as big an arena as the Baltimore Mariners did. Some teams offer additional benefits with season tickets, and season ticket holders get to choose the best seats and keep them. I could go on, but let's just stop insulting others who may have different priorities or make different choices than you do, okay?

Well... When a team owner is evaluating what level of interest they have in the community.. So if you want to help out your team, and make sure the owner knows support is either there or building - season tickets is a great way to do that.

Second, teams should and usually do include perks.

And third, season tickets are always cheaper that buying on game day every game. Plus no box office wait, etc.

When I was working in low level minor league sports I was considering including a game worn jersey in certain season ticket packages. There is lots of ways to increase perceived value.

My main point is, you all keep whining about buying season tickets and losing your money, so don't buy any season tickets until you're comfortable that the team has staying power or even why bother buying them at all if the games never sell out? As for "cheaper". I never paid more than $20 for a ticket to an AIFA game and the seats where often 1st row near mid field

Again, I expect you not to insult others with your opinions. You made a very broad statement about the SPORT. Jerry wasn't "whining;" he was stating his opinion about the wisdom of buying season tickets in a particular league. Some games in this sport DO sell out and at other venues the good seats do. Your experiences with AIFA games seem to support Jerry's concerns, but to apply them to the entire sport is over-reaching.

Paul, I can take criticism and accept the fact that not all will agree with my opinions. I also understand that some ignore points made by others posting here in order to get their own point across. Buying season tickets if you are just a casual fan with little to no interest in any part of the game, except to be entertained makes no sense, especially if there are always good seats available. Fans come in all shapes and sizes and that pertains to their interest in the game as well. Some could care less if teams are fly by night, owners crooked, players and others left unpaid or other issues some find important. That is their right. Nobody says you have to care to be a fan.

Part of it is, that while I really enjoy indoor football and am a HUGE football fan overall. personally, I don't want to be commited to attend a minor league indoor football game EVERY weekend. I mean something MORE IMPORTANT might come up, like my 10 year old daughter's soccer games or dance recitals. So while I'd like to attend as many games as I could, I do prefer that games not be sold out and there be no need to buy season tickets to be able to get into the arena when I can to a game. Is that a "casual fan"? maybe, but with the attendance I've seen at these games, wether on TV or at Baltimore Mariners/Blackbirds games, they need as many people like me as they can possibly find!

Exactly, I'm too old to be a player, never been a coach, other than 8-10 year old girls soccer ...to me, this is the equivilant of going to the movies. An entertainment option, and truly, what happens behind the scenes is not my concern. Football is just something that I love to watch, my wife and daughter have refused to attend games, they just don't care about football at all...it's just something I like, and something that I can't foresee ever being involved in beyond WATCHING THE GAME and being entertained by the spectacle for 2-3 hours. I'd like a stable team in my area, but not beacuse I want players and sponsors etc. to get paid - but just for me to go and watch! Sure, I'd like everybody owed money to get paid, but it's not something I'll care about or be monitoring.

Great, I believe you've made those points before more than once. Doesn't make anyone "dumb" for holding a different view.

Some people like you seem to "worry" about the existance of those teams, like you're scared that the evil John Morris will rip somebody off! face it, those players losing pay is not a big deal! pretty much NONE OF THEM is ever going to the NFL, they should all be looking for REAL jobs anyways, so why sweat it? It's just entertainment. Basically, it's a glorified rec league.
