Default AIF expansion in Muskegon and Philadelphia

//www.oursportscentral.com/serv...es/?id=4991796

American Indoor Football Commissioner John Morris announced today that Terrence Williams has acquired the Muskegon market for an expansion team. The new team will be named for the entire region featuring the name Western Michigan. The final team name will be announced in the near future. The team expects to begin play in the 2016 season. The AIF has been working with Mr. Williams since 2014 on bringing this team into the league.
With the addition of Muskegon, MI, the AIF has expanded its great lakes regional foot print by having two Michigan teams, in addition to Chicago, Cleveland and Buffalo easing the travel and enhancing the rivalries.

"We proudly welcome Terrence to the AIF," said Commissioner John Morris. "This is a development that will elevate the AIF to new heights. The Great Lakes region is home to more than 19 million people, and we look forward to intense rivalries between Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago and now two Michigan teams that will captivate this great region."

"I am excited to be able to bring indoor football back to West Michigan, where football is King." Stated Mr. Williams, "Our goal is to compete for and win championships right out of the gate. The competition in the AIF is phenomenal, but we plan to be in the hunt right away."

The team will play its home games in the LC Walker Arena. It is a beautiful 5,000 seat arena on the lakeshore of Muskegon. The goal is to provide an entertaining and family friendly environment. Western Michigan will plan to have games for the kids, special guest half-time performers, and a myriad other activities for the family to enjoy.

"We want the city to feel a sense of ownership, so we are going to allow our city to name the team and choose the team colors. This is truly their team!" said Terrence. "I am been blessed to have started a non-profit organization "The WV Foundation" that has awarded nearly $50,000 in college scholarships to high school students through the Muskegon All-Star Classic. The WVF uses sports as a vector toward higher education and community growth in West Michigan, and I'm excited for the launch of the arena team to be another step in growing the community."

The American Indoor Football (AIF) league is proud to announce the addition of the Philadelphia Yellow Jackets for the 2016 season. After a very competitive 2015 season the AIF welcomes the addition of the Philadelphia market.

The Yellow Jackets name originated with The Frankford Yellow Jackets, the very first professional football team in Philadelphia. P-Y-J will play their home games in the Class of 23 Arena.

JAKIB MEDIA SPORTS, LLC has successfully launched and operated the IGL – Indoor Gridiron League for four seasons while also executing the first & second Army Veterans vs. Navy Veterans Arena Football Game in Philadelphia. In addition, JAKIB (Krause) served as VP of Operations for the first-ever Professional Football Game in China. “The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets belong to the Fans of Philadelphia and all Season Ticket Holders will receive Ownership stock in the franchise. We are excited to join the AIF and to be a part of the great football tradition in Philadelphia,” Said Owner Joe Krause, “I’m extremely blessed and now have an opportunity to use professional football as a vehicle to support non-profits, schools, families in need and those who have served, are serving or will serve in our United States Military”

“Joe Krause has done an outstanding job changing the landscape of arena and indoor football beginning with his role as Vice President of Sales with the Philadelphia Soul during the 2008 Championship Season to the launch of Professional Football in China. We are excited to bring them into the AIF family. This is a very solid addition to our regional footprint that will make the AIF one of the premier leagues in the country “Said AIF CEO John Morris. “The Philadelphia area is home to a passionate fan base. We look forward to an intense brand of Indoor Football that will captivate this great city. We are extremely excited to add the quality of ownership and team as the Philadelphia Yellow Jackets.”

Philadelphia is a legendary sports town with a rich history and tradition of professional football dating all the way back to the 1920’s. The residents of Philadelphia are the greatest sports fans in the world, and they will welcome with open arms an American Indoor Football member team with the loyal support that the residents are famous for.
