Not really. It's just a fact of life that reassuring press releases don't reassure people. Basically, some of us are aware of some of the issues and would be reassured by the press release. Some of us are aware of the issues and wouldn't believe anything they said. And most aren't aware of the issues and would become concerned with the reassurance. This is how you start panic, not prevent it.

This is more the problem. We the fans don't need a press release, but investor groups do need the truth.

The problem is the management doesn't have a reputation for always being on top publicly to put out fires. We all know minor league sports is hell on earth sometimes, so investors and the public do have a right to hear SOMETHING from management.

Take the whole supposed team in South Carolina disaster. People expected SOMETHING from this league after that Italian group thing earlier, and to everyone's astonishment, didn't get it. It was going on for months and the PBL never acknowledged the SC effort's existence when it was obvious it wasn't credible and it was hurting the PBL's credibility.

Ultimately, somebody has to understand that "national" minor basketball leagues do not work without the NBA's backing, and even that's questionable. It would be better to develop credible regional leagues and then get the NBA blessing to affiliate as a third-tier league below the NBA and D-League.

If this league is as stable and well-funded as it claims to be, all their teams should be able to make it to the end of the season and any blanket announcements should be made then. If one or more teams is not able to make it to through the season, that news of the league's status sill announce itself.

1) Play all your games.

2) Pay all your obligations.

3) ?????

4) Profit!

NSF you know this league won't do this, also don't you think your stretching the truth quite a bit to say their word is good. And before everyone says I'm harping on the sos lets just look back at all the facts and make our judgement from previous issues.
