BREAKING NEWS: The National Arena League announces a 2018 Schedule Release to take place this week. Teams expect to begin regular season play in April 2018. See full story here:
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – After a successful first season of play in 2017, the National Arena League is slated to kickoff their 2018 campaign this coming April. Returning franchises include the defending Champion Jacksonville Sharks, Columbus Lions, and the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. The additions of the Carolina Cobras (Greensboro, NC), Maine Mammoths (Portland, ME), and Massachusetts Pirates (Worcester, MA) round out the League teams.
With higher expectations and requirements set in League bylaws, League officials set out to expand in new markets, with ownership groups that reflected the league ideals. The 2017 League members, Monterrey Steel along with a previously announced franchise in Trenton, NJ (Jersey Flight) were unable to meet the league’s minimum obligations to be included on the 2018 NAL schedule

Now you talk about a joke this is funny. Mexico led the league in attendance last season and they couldn't meet the league's minimum obligations (really) the team payed for other league teams travel to Mexico last season, appears they wised up and refused to float deadbeat teams a second season. If the league really had standards this waiting around to announce new teams would have ended in September the (deadline) for a new franchise simply what a joke.
While Monterrey closed shop months ago and was only rethinking of coming back. If they aren't in, its for a legit reason. NJ Though did have financial issues.

There won't be any deadbeat teams this season based on the current league line up.
