Default Orlando Pride's Alex Morgan joins U.S. soccer complaint seeking fair pay

Orlando Pride star Alex Morgan is among five U.S. women's national team soccer players pushing for sweeping changes that would eliminate a gender pay gap.

Their demand equal play, equal pay was detailed in a federal complaint alleging wage discrimination filed against the U.S. Soccer Federation Thursday.

"There's precedent," said Orlando City president Phil Rawlins, noting he hadn't closely reviewed the women's complaint but has seen many changes to the game through the years. "There's cases, I wouldn't say the same as this, but cases where players individually have made a stance and rules and laws of the game have been changed.

"For example, back in the 1960s, there was the maximum wage. The players fought about max wage level and that got changed, freedom to negotiate contracts came in."
