BASEBALL Pioneer Baseball League: The independent Pioneer League, which is a partner league with Major League Baseball, announced a new team called the Oakland Ballers, or Oakland B's, will be added for the 2024 season and part of the league's proposed new Pacific West Division. A second team based in Northern California is expected to be added to the new division in January. San Diego Gulls Recall Jaxsen Wiebe from Tulsa

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled right wing Jaxsen Wiebe from the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL. Wiebe, 21 (5/16/02), tallied 2-2=4 points with seven penalty minutes (PIM) and a +3 rating in three games with Tulsa. He has recorded one assist (0-1=1) and two PIM in seven games with San Diego this season. He earned his first professional point and assist in his AHL debut Oct. 24 at Tucson. Penguins Call up Lukas Svejkovsky from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Lukas Svejkovsky has been reassigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. Svejkovsky, who turned 22-years-old last week, is tied for second-highest point total on the Nailers with 16. He has registered at least one point in 10 of his 12 games played this season, amassing six goals and 10 assists. Last season, Svejkovsky appeared in 47 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. LouCity's 2024 Roster Shapes up with First 13 Returning Players

End-of-season processes are underway for Eastern Conference finalist Louisville City FC with 13 returning players so far under contract for next year's 10th anniversary campaign, the club announced Monday. Deals for each of Amadou Dia, Dylan Mares, Carlos Moguel Jr., Oliver Semmle, Sean Totsch and Elijah Wynder continue into 2024. Danny Faundez, Jorge Gonzalez, Niall McCabe and Ray Serrano all signed new contracts following the 2023 season that are pending league and federation approval.
