CHICAGO(AP) – Kevin Long's 1-yard touchdown blast capped an 83-yard drive with 1:57 to play Sunday and clinched a 22-11 victory for the Chicago Blitz over the Birmingham Stallions in a USFL game.
It was the third straight win for Chicago and left the Blitz with a 4-2 record while Birmingham dropped to 2-4.
Chicago held only a 13-11 lead when the Blitz put together its final touchdown drive, highlighted by a 31-yard pass from Greg Landry to Doug Dennison.
The Blitz took a 6-0 lead on field goals of 20 and 42 yards by Frank Corral, who had been reactivated earlier in the day. Corral had been sidelined with a slight ligament tear in the right knee.
