Sparks' Nneka Ogwumike Named 2016 WNBA Most Valuable Player

September 27, 2016 - NEW YORK- Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike has been named the 2016 WNBA Most Valuable Player presented by Samsung, the league announced today. The fifth-year forward earned her first MVP award and became the eighth different player in the last eight years to win the honor. She is the third winner for the Sparks, joining teammate Candace Parker (2008, 2013) and Lisa Leslie (2001, 2004, 2006). WNBA Draft Lottery Presented by State Farm to Take Place Live on ESPN2

September 26, 2016 - NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2016 - The 2017 WNBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm will be televised live on ESPN2 on Wednesday, Sept. 28, the WNBA announced today. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx who finished the 2016 WNBA regular-season with a league-best 28-6 record for the first time since 2013 (fourth time overall), earned a bye through the first two rounds of the WNBA Playoffs and will open up the 2016 WNBA Semifinals at Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday, September 28 at 7 p.m. CT. Sky to Face Sparks in Semifinals

September 25, 2016 - CHICAGO - With a 108-98 win over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, the Chicago Sky advanced to the semifinal round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs presented by Verizon where they will face the Los Angeles Sparks in the semifinals.
