Sergachev Named OHL Defenceman of the Year

April 29, 2016 - (Windsor, ON) - Mikhail Sergachev is the 2015-16 recipient of the Max Kaminsky Trophy, awarded annually to the Ontario Hockey League's Most Outstanding Defenceman. The 17-year-old from Nizhnekamsk, Russia had an outstanding first season in the OHL, finishing with 17 goals - most among all league defencemen - and 40 assists for 57 points and a plus-15 rating in 67 games. Raise Your Hands Raises $13,000 for Area Schools

April 22, 2016 - (Windsor, ON) - The third season of our Raise Your Hands program was a big success. Twenty-four schools from WECDSB, GECDSB and CSC school boards participated, accounting for 2,500 tickets sold and $13,000 being donated back into Windsor and Essex County schools. Four Spitfires Nominated for League Awards

April 13, 2016 - (Windsor, ON) - Three Spitfire players and the club's head coach have been nominated for Ontario Hockey League awards, the league announced earlier today. Christian Fischer is the club's nominee for the Red Tilson Award, given to the league's most valauble player. Fischer, 19, topped the club in scoring with 40 goals and 50 assists in his first OHL season. Michael DiPietro is up for Rookie of the Year honours. April 9, 2016 - (Windsor, ON) - The Spitfires made 12 picks in today's OHL Priority Selection. With the first pick of the second round (#21 overall) the club took Connor Corcoran, a 6'0, 168-pound defenceman from the Barrie Junior Colts Minor Midgets. Corcoran played 32 games last season, scoring four goals and eight assists along with 38 penalty minutes.
