Steamers End Sharks Streak

July 23, 2016 - It was clear early that the bats for the Edenton Steamers (24-19, 12-3) were going to be tough to handle, and in the end they proved too much for the Wilmington Sharks (27-17, 11-6) as Edenton took the game 7-4 This game had the makings of a high scoring one, as both teams scored in the first. Slugfest Ends in Sharks Win

July 22, 2016 - Hits were plentiful on Friday night with the Wilmington Sharks (27-16, 11-5) and the Wilson Tobs (21-21, 7-6) combining for 28 hits, but it was the Sharks who would take the win by a score of 10-6. The scoring started in just the first inning, when Alec Bohm (Wichita State) hit a RBI single to give his team the lead. He would finish with a 5-5 night. July 21, 2016 - It may not have been a dominating performance, but the Wilmington Sharks' (26-16, 10-5) pitching staff came through when it counted to strand 11 baserunners of the Wilson Tobs (21-20, 7-7) to protect the lead and win 6-2. The Sharks took the lead in the third and never looked back. Mark Donadio (Fordham) singled to break open the scoring, and Alec Bohm (Wichita State) followed that with a double to score another. Sharks Pitching Stifles Marlins Offense

July 20, 2016 - The Wilmington Sharks' (25-16, 9-5) pitching staff was on a mission Wednesday night as they held the Morehead City Marlins (18-19, 4-6) to just two hits the entire night, and went on to win 5-1. Connor Riley (USC Aiken) got the start on the mound, and struck out the side in the first inning. He was nearly un-hittable all night and finished with nine strikeouts.
