Comeback Falls Short Again as Sharks Drop 3rd Straight

August 4, 2016 - For the third straight game, the Wilmington Sharks (30-20, 14-9) fell behind early, battled back, but couldn't complete a comeback as the Edenton Steamers (26-25, 14-9) capitalized on many walks to down the Sharks 8-6 on Thursday night. July 29, 2016 - After mounting a comeback a night ago, it was Wilmington Sharks' (30-18, 14-7) turn to lose the lead on Friday night, as the Fayetteville Swampdogs (8-13, 17-31) came back to beat the Sharks by a score of 5-2. Alec Bohm's (Wichita State) sacrifice fly gave the Sharks an early lead in the first, but the Swampdogs responded to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. 10 Unanswered Runs Give Sharks Comeback Win

July 28, 2016 - Trailing 6-0 in the middle of the fourth inning on Thursday night, the Wilmington Sharks (30-17, 14-6) came all the way back scoring 10 unanswered runs to cap off a comeback win over the Florence Redwolves (20-25, 11-7) by a score of 10-6. Early on, this game didn't have the makings of a Sharks win. The Redwolves piled on six runs in the first four innings, with the Sharks held hitless through their first three at bats. Riley Tosses 100th Strikeout in Sharks Win

July 27, 2016 - Connor Riley (USC Aiken) took the mound on Wednesday night with 89 strikeouts this season, and with the last out of the game, he picked up his 100th strikeout to seal victory for the Wilmington Sharks (29-17, 13-6) over the Fayetteville Swampdogs (5-13, 13-31) by a score of 3-1. Riley didn't get the strikeout pitch working until late in the ballgame.
