May 21, 2016 - ROCHESTER, NY - The Western New York Flash (3-3-0) used four goals in the first half to propel them to a 5-2 victory over Sky Blue FC (2-3-1). Jess McDonald led the effort with a first-half brace with three other Western New York players adding to the tally. Jaelene Hinkle crossed a corner kick into the box in the 5th minute that connected with McDonald's head for the first goal of the evening. May 21, 2016 - ELMA, N.Y. - The Western New York Flash have signed 2016 NWSL College Draft pick Laura Liedle, the team announced today. As per league and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. A San Diego native, Liedle was the No. 24 overall pick and the only defender drafted by the Flash in 2016. During her tenure at Stanford, she posted 13 assists and led the defense to 49 clean sheets as well as two College Cup appearances. The Colombian midfielder joined the Flash during its 2015 NWSL campaign after representing Colombia in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
