Estefania Banini to Miss 4-6 Weeks After Successful Knee Surgery

August 24, 2016 - BOYDS, MD - Washington Spirit forward and reigning NWSL Player of the Month for July Estefania Banini underwent succesful left knee arthroscopy on Wednesday, August 24th and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Banini missed the Spirit's last match in Houston due to pain in the knee and will begin rehabiliation immediately. The Argentinian international has played in 12 matches this season for the Spirit. July 23, 2016 - PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Washington Spirit (8-3-2, 26 points) fell to regional rivals Sky Blue FC (6-4-4, 22 points) 1-0 on the road. A driven shot by English international and Sky Blue rookie Leah Galton made the difference for the team.
