NWSL Announces Labbé, Matheson, and Zadorsky as Spirit's 2016 Canadian Allocated Players

February 8, 2016 - BOYDS, MD - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the Canadian Women's National Team allocated players for 2016, including goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, midfielder Diana Matheson, and defender Shelina Zadorsky to the Spirit. The Spirit acquired the rights to Labbé through a trade with the Chicago Red Stars announced last month in which the Red Stars received Amanda Da Costa and the Spirit's natural fourth-round pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. February 2, 2016 - BOYDS, MD - The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has acquired defender Alyssa Kleiner from the Portland Thorns. January 26, 2016 - CHICAGO - U.S. Women's National Team head coach Jill Ellis named the 20 players who will represent the USA at the 2016 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship running from Feb. 10-21 in Frisco and Houston, Texas.
