Royals Topped by Cougars in Home Opener

September 24, 2016 - Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals were stymied by goaltender Ty Edmonds and the Prince George Cougars on Friday night as they fell by a score of 3-1 to open their 2016-17 WHL Regular Season. The Royals fired 31 shots in the contest, but could only beat Edmonds once as the 20-year-old netminder was the game's first star with 30 saves. Royals Sign Gunnar Wegleitner

September 20, 2016 - Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals are proud to announce the signing of 1998-born forward Gunnar Wegleitner to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement. Wegleitner was listed to the Royals' 50-man protected player list early this month after he attended the Royals' Training Camp. Each WHL team is allowed to protect 50 players which includes individuals who have either been signed, drafted or listed by their respective club. Royals to be Featured on the WHL on Shaw

September 20, 2016 - Victoria, BC- The Western Hockey League (WHL) and Shaw TV announced they will be broadcasting 36 regular season games on the cable network, with the first 17 contests scheduled through December 17, 2016. The Victoria Royals will be featured in three of those games. The Royals will first be on the air in Vancouver on Wednesday, October 5th to face the Giants.
