Blades New Assistant Coaches

July 20, 2016 - The Saskatoon Blades reached into their own backyard for two new assistant coaches, signing a pair of outstanding home grown men with great hockey pedigrees. Bryce Thoma, who was born in Saskatoon, signed on to become an assistant to head coach Dean Brockman after spending the last three seasons as the general manager and head coach of the Weyburn Red Wings in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. June 28, 2016 - The Saskatoon Blades have selected 17 year old Russian defenceman Mark Rubinchik in today's CHL Import Draft. The left-shot defenceman split last season between Moscow Dynamo U17 and HK MVD Balashikha, totaling a combined 4 goals and 7 assists in 27 games. June 27, 2016 - The Saskatoon Blades and their fans will salute Gordie Howe in the team's 2016-17 home opener Sunday, September 25th. "While we remembered Gordie Howe by placing flowers, jerseys and a photo at his statue on the day we learned of his passing, our home opener will the first opportunity we have to formally honour Mr. Hockey," says team president Steve Hogle. Hajek Set to Represent Country Once Again

April 14, 2016 - Libor Hajek is set to compete on the international stage once again as he and Team Czech Republic face off against Finland in the U18 World Championships tonight in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This will be the 2nd time Hajek has competed at the U18 World Championships, getting his first taste last year in Switzerland, tallying a goal for the Czechs in fives games.
