Walk Off Win for the Braves, 9-8

May 28, 2016 - Rome, GA - The Rome Braves won a wild game 9-8 against the Greenville Drive Saturday night before a crowd of 2,626. The game saw a total of 17 runs cross the plate, 22 combined hits, and four errors. Greenville struck first in the opening inning scoring three runs. After two singles, an RBI groundout and a Leudys Baez fielding error, the Drive had a 3-0 lead. Rome would answer quickly in the bottom of the first plating four runs to take the lead. Greenville Pitching Too Much for Braves

May 27, 2016 - Rome, GA - The Greenville Drive, behind strong starting pitching, beat the Rome Braves Friday evening at State Mutual Stadium before 3,039 fans. The third inning saw Greenville crack the scoreboard with a run scored on a sacrifice fly by Kyri Washington. The Drive added two more runs in the fifth highlighted by an RBI single by Tate Matheny and a double by Josh Ockimey to plate the second run making it a 3-0 game. May 26, 2016 - Rome, GA - Rome overcame an early Greenville lead banging out 15 hits to get a 7-4 win at State Mutual Stadium before 1,879 fans. The Drive grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning on bases loaded walks by Austin Rei and Chad De la Guerra, and a wild pitch to score a run. Barrett Kleinknecht Joins Coaching Staff

May 26, 2016 - Rome, GA - The Rome Braves announce that Barrett Kleinknecht joins the coaching staff replacing Jose Yepez who is now the bullpen catcher for the Atlanta Braves. Kleinknecht played in the Braves organization starting in 2010 in Danville and ending last season in Gwinnett. He played in Rome parts of the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Kleinknecht is now the third former Rome player to return as a coach or manager joining Jonathan Schuerholz (Mgr. 2014), and Dan Meyer (current pitching coach).... Full Story
